Why everyone keeps coming back.

Restaurante La Casa de Bongust • Pizzería • Tapería, nestled in the vibrant heart of Ciutat Vella, València, is a culinary gem that masterfully blends traditional Spanish flavors with modern culinary flair. This inviting wine bar and restaurant invites guests to savor a diverse menu steeped in authentic Mediterranean charm, where each dish bursts with fresh, local ingredients and artful preparation.

The dining experience here is a delightful journey through classic Valencian cuisine elevated by thoughtful twists. Start with their refreshing Ensalada Valenciana, featuring crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, tender onions, boiled eggs, tuna, and olives, delivering a perfectly balanced, colorful appetizer for €13.00. For lovers of simplicity enriched with fresh creaminess, the Ensalada Caprese with mozzarella di bufala and vine-ripened tomatoes at €12.00 is a must-try.

Moving on to heartier offerings, the Fritura de Calamares y Gambas (€18.00) provides a crispy, golden bite of perfectly fried calamari and succulent prawns that dance on the palate. The signature Pulpo a la Gallega (€18.00) is a standout, tender octopus kissed with smoky paprika and a drizzle of high-quality olive oil, evoking the coastal spirit of Spain. Meat lovers will find solace in the Solomillo de Ternera a la Parrilla (€26.00), a juicy, grilled beef sirloin that is both tender and richly flavored. Vegetarian and chicken options like the Pechuga de Pollo a los 4 Quesos (€16.00) bring an appealing creamy, cheesy warmth that comforts the senses. Adventurous diners can customize dinner with the Pescado del Día al Horno priced at €8 per 100 grams, fresh from the sea to the oven.

End your meal sweetly with homemade desserts such as the airy Tiramisù Casero, decadent Cheesecake, comforting Torrija, or the rich Brownie — all elegantly priced at €8.00. The Copa Bongust offers a final flourish, a perfect accompaniment to their carefully curated Spanish wines.

The atmosphere at Restaurante La Casa de Bongust is as inviting as its menu. Guests frequently praise its lively and warm environment, where the buzz of conversation blends effortlessly with attentive, friendly service. Regulars, like Sara Torres, rave about the “traditional cuisine with a special twist,” while Max Lewis highlights the welcoming staff and superb Valencian paella, proving this is a place for both exquisite food and genuine hospitality. Meanwhile, diners such as Mick_B appreciate the value and spirited locale, particularly enjoying the buzzing setting paired with top-quality dishes.

Great little restaurant with a wonderful menu of the day with a sampling of 3 starters and a variety of main courses. The paella was delicious with plenty of meat and sucarraet, yum. Hubby had sea bass which though small, tasted very nicely, he said. For dessert we had cheesecake and chocolate cake, both to die for. We will definitely be back
